Brandys nad Labem

This castle is located on a river bank of Vltava, where an ancient way to the North from Prague crossed the river. The castle attracted different kings due to its perfect hunting forests, once even inhabited by aurochs. In the year 1813 three kings – Francis II, William III and Alexander I – met here to plan an attack against Napoleon. The castle is now reconstructed in Renaissance and Baroque styles and is surrounded by Italian style garden. It is the closest castle out of Prague's area.
